Natural Gardeners

we are what we eat

I am working on an article for digitaljournal on community greening. The focus is on the benefits to the community of investing in a greening project. I am looking for comments which I can use in the article and thought this is space might be one way to proceed.

All comments will be attributed to their source. Thanks.

School/community gardens are a wonderful way to get things started. There are lots of wonderful resources on the web and I believe that grant money is sometimes available. The hard part is always getting a team of people to commit to the workload, but this can be mitigated to some extent by using permaculture principles and therefore reducing repetitive workloads.

I am really trying to get our local elementary school and the local mayor interested. Sadly, our local school is under thread of closure, so all our efforts are going into the SOS campaign at the moment.

Keeping the school open would be a priority, school gardens can generate revenue for the school.
